The Pitch
In the 1880s War of the Pacific, Nicolás de Piérola, the dictator of Peru, hired two North Americans...the headline-grabbing swimmer, Paul Boyton, and his friend and agent, George Kiefer...to break the Chilean blockade of the harbor at Callao.
